PGB employees respond to fake bomb threat/explosion

CITY OF MALOLOS – Employees of the Provincial Government of Bulacan trooped to Capitol Mini-Forest after a receiving a phone call that there was a bomb threat within the vicinity, Tuesday morning.

The PGB employees calmly fall in line and headed towards the said park thus applying the tips on what to do during this kind of emergency.

Col. Fernando Villanueva, the incident commander of the incident management team (IMT) led the team and ensured that all employees were headed to the Capitol Mini Forest, the evacuation area for such crisis.

However, the said bomb threat/explosion was just a drill.

According to Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, the drill aims to enhance more the capabilities of the PGB and IMT with regard to responding to this kind of emergency situation.

It also aims to identify the rooms for improvement and increase the level of awareness of employees with regard to responding to bomb threats and other related emergencies.

“Ang SOP po natin diyan, after maka-receive ng call ang employee ng PHRMO (Provincial Human Resource Management Office, agad itong ipinagbigay alam sa mga guard natin from the PCSJMO (Provincial Civil Security and Jail Management Office) na agaran ring ipinabatid sa Bulacan Rescue at itinawag din agad sa Bulacan PNP bilang sila ang may bomb specialist na pwedeng rumesponde sa sitwasyon,” Felicisima Mungcal, head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said.

According to PS/Insp. Sean Logronio, team leader of the SWAT Bulacan Provincial Police Office (BPPO), safety drills should never be taken lightly because this will prepare everyone on emergency evacuation procedures, teach how to respond appropriately to numerous potential emergencies and avoid casualties.

Prior to this, PDRRMO held different activities in line with the observance of Fire Month, including two series of bomb threat/explosion seminar to all fire marshal from the different departments of the PGB, bloodletting, distribution of rescue tools for Rapid Earthquake Disaster Assessment System (REDAS), Urban Search And Rescue (USAR) and Fire Drill.

Staff of the Philippine Red Cross, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bulacan Rescue and BPPO also participated on the said drill.
