Alvarado wins gubernatorial post for the third time

CITY OF MALOLOS – One week after the election, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado was proclaimed as the governor of Bulacan for the third time coinciding with the Monday Flag Ceremony at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium yesterday morning.

Atty. Lydia Florentino-Pangilinan, chairman of the Provincial Board of Canvassers (PBOC), Chief Prosecutor Renato Samonte Jr., vice chairman and Dr. Romeo Alip, member/secretary led the proclamation for Alvarado which was witnessed by hundreds of employees of the Provincial Government of Bulacan along with his supporters.

Based on the Certificate of Canvass of Votes and Proclamation of Winning Candidate for Provincial Governor of the PBOC, the incumbent governor, who is a member of the Liberal Party, won against his 11 opponents after garnering the highest votes with the total of 684,468 as stated on the attached Statement of Votes (CEF No. 20-A-1).

For his part, Alvarado thanked all who consistently believed in his administration and said that he will do everything to give back to Bulakenyos every day of his public service.

“Magsisimula po tayong muli after more than 45 days na hindi po kami dumalo, bagama’t ako po ay pasulpot-sulpot. Sa inyo pong lahat we have to buckle up again to work at inaasahan po ito ng ating mga kalalawigan. Magtrabaho po tayo ng buong sigla at dodoblehin natin ang ating inisyatibo sapagkat umaasa po sila sa ating lahat,” Alvarado said.

Meanwhile, his running mate and incumbent vice governor Hon. Daniel Fernando also won against his two opponents with 834,042 votes.

According to the Commission on Elections-Bulacan, there are 1,640,627 registered voters in the province wherein 1,371,039 had voted.
