CITY OF MALOLOS – The Chief Public Attorney of the Republic of the Philippines and nationwide head of the Public Attorney’s Office Dr. Persida V. Rueda-Acosta of the City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan was one of the awardees in the Gawad Dangal ng Lipi held at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city yesterday.

Model advocate of human rights, Dr. Acosta, has a deep concern for people, love for the country, and honesty in her goal to protect the rights of her countrymen especially the indigents who are searching for justice.

As a multi-awarded public servant, her major significant award is the Lingkod Bayan Award, the Highest Presidential Award for Outstanding Public Service, from the Civil Service Commission that was given to her in 2004.

Other awardees include Artemio C. Veneracion, Jr. from Baliwag (Agriculture); Dr. Alejandro R. San Pedro, M.D. from Bocaue (Health); Atty. Alberto Jesus T. Muyot from the City of Malolos (Education); Amb. Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro from Bulakan (Bulakenyo Expatriate); Jorge V. Cariño from Hagonoy (Arts and Culture - Journalism); Amando S. San Juan from Baliwag (Entrepreneur); Cristina C. Tuzon from the City of San Jose Del Monte (Trade and Industry); Maria Lourdes C. Santiago from Guiguinto (Professional); Dr. Benito M. Pacheco from Balagtas (Science and Technology); and P/C Supt. Francisco J. Villaroman (Ret.) from Baliwag/San Rafael (Public Community Service).

According to Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, the said awards night for the outstanding sons and daughters of Bulacan will add up to the shimmering glow of the extending ornamental chains hanging on the neck of the province and it has been enclosed with greatness that blankets the awareness of their ancestors since then.

“Ang Dangal ng Lipi ay isang wagas na pagkilala sa mga Bulakenyong patuloy na nagsusulong sa tradisyon ng kabayanihan at nagtataguyod sa kultura ng kahusayang isinabuhay ng magigiting na lalaki at babaeng sumibol sa lalawigang ito,” Alvarado said.
