Bulacan agri products, Central Luzon goods take part in Singkaban Festival

CITY OF MALOLOS – The vegetable goods of Bulacan as well as the quality products from Central Luzon will star in the celebration of Singkaban Festival as the Provincial Agriculture Office and Provincial Cooperative Enterprise and Development Office jointly open the “Bahay Kubo, Bahay Gulay” and “Tatak Singkaban ng Central Luzon” on September 13, 2017, 8 am at the Mini Forest, Capitol Compound in this city.

The opening program of the weeklong exhibit will be led by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and the guest of honors, Asec. Blesila A. Lantayona from the Department of Trade and Industry-Regional Operations Group and Undersecretary for High Value Crops and Rural Credit Evelyn G. Laviña of the Department of Agriculture.

According to PAO, 10 nipa huts from different municipalities of Bulacan will be adorned by the Bulacan Farmers Association with various vegetable products and the bahay kubo with the most beautiful and unique decoration will win P30,000, P20,000 and P10,000 for the first, second and third places with certificate of recognition each.

As for the Tatak Singkaban ng Central Luzon, the PCEDO said that around 96 exhibitors from seven provinces will participate in the said event wherein 54 manufacturers will come from Bulacan.

Alvarado said that the province welcomes all participants in this two in one event that will spice up the Singkaban Festival celebration.

“We will spare the agrifolks from a day’s work to attend the said Bahay Kubo, Bahay Gulay competition initiated by the Provincial Agriculture Office as well as give the micro and small enterprises (MSEs) of CL the opportunity to showcase their best products,” the governor said.

Bahay Kubo, Bahay Gulay will run until September 15 from 8 am to 6 pm while the trade event will run until September 20 from 8 am to 8 pm.
