"Being creative of Bulakenyos should be enriched all the time" - Senator Poe

CITY OF MALOLOS – Speaking with utmost sincerity, Senator Grace Poe lauded the innate creativeness of Bulakenyos during the opening of Singkaban Festival with the theme “Singkaban Festival 2017: Bulacan, babalik-balikan!” held in front of the Provincial Government of Bulacan in this city earlier today.

The lady senator said that in this era where various technology exists, having a great imagination and creative thinking is important in finding solution to the complicated problems of the country.

“Kung may katangian ang mga Bulakenyo na dapat pagyamanin sa lahat ng panahon, ito ay ang pagiging malikhain. Ang pagiging malikhain kailanman ay hindi mawawala sa uso at habang lumilikha ang tao, lagi siyang may bigat at halaga sa lipunan,” the guest of honor said.

Senator Poe added that Singkaban is one of the examples of a creative activity that pays attention to the arts and culture of Bulacan in order to establish a creative industry in each town and cities of the province.

Meanwhile, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the Bulakenyos have already prepared a strong foundation of development through his seven point program.

“Kailangan na lamang ang matibay na pagkakaisa upang ang ating minimithi, sama-sama nating marating ang hantungang gusto nating puntahan, at sama sama nating matawid ang isang marangal, makatarungan, maunlad, kapita-pitagan at maaliwalas na kinabukasan kung saan magkakaroon ng mas matingkad na katuturan ang taun-taong paglingon at pagbabalik-balik natin sa ating pinanggalingan,” the governor said.

The provincial chief executive added that through this, new singkaban(s) will always be erected, symbolic arcs of success that will welcome development and will be run to by the next generation.

Various activities were also opened during the opening of Singkaban Festival such as “Sineliksik Bulacan Docufest 2017 Film Showing” that will run from September 13-14 at STI Malolos, “Pambansang Kumperensiya sa Bulacan 2017” from September 13-15 at Balagtas Hall, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center and “Bulacan Business Conference 2017” at Hiyas Pavilion, HBCC that will run from September 8-12 wherein Mr. Manny Pangilinan and Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aguirre Aquino IV graced as guest speakers.

Other highlights on the first day of festivity were “Parada ng Karosa”, “Indakan sa Kalye” and presentation of the first candidates of the “Hari at Reyna ng Singkaban 2017”.
