This cave is a subterranean network of caverns extending more than a kilometer deep. The Katipunero Revolutionaries during the war against Spain used it as a camp in 1896 and again during the Filipino-American War in 1898 as hideout of General Emilio Aguinaldo (the First President of the Philippines). It was also used as a sanctuary by the Japanese Imperial Army when the Philippines was liberated by American Forces. |

Been there way back 2007, I had a superb unforgettable experience.
This is one of the best natural landmarks sa Bulacan na dapat ipromote. It has a very colorful history knowing na tinaguan ito nila Gen.Emilio.
Hindi namin naabot ung ending ng cave kasi nga malalim na yung tubig. Tumambay nalang kami sa loob, pero sabi nila ganda daw ng dulo nito, may falls at may mga naiwan pang artifacts na ginamit nila Aguinaldo. I wish I had seen them!
If you would ask me to go back, maybe yes, and no. Yes, kasi I love to visit places na may magandang kwento ng nakaraan. No, kasi super delikado pala yung ginawa namin. Napakadilim nung place, only candle or flashlight lang na dala mo ang magbibigay ng liwanag sa inyo sa loob.
But if you want fun and adventure, I recommend this place. Proud Bulakenya to! :) |
