Thursday, 07 October 2010
MALOLOS CITY- Board Member Michael Fermin of Bulacan first district was elected as the new secretary general of the Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines (PBMLP)-Region III Chapter in the recent election held in Fontana Leisure Park and Hotel, Angeles City, Pampanga.

Fermin’s bid was supported by his colleagues from the Provincial Board who campaigned for him in an end to have a more active voice in the national league.

“I was unanimously supported by my colleagues. At nagpapasalamat ako na hindi nila ko pinabayaan para magkaroon tayo ng kinatawan sa pambansang liga,” said Fermin.

Fermin also stated his plans as he embraces greater responsibilities being the new PBMLP secretary-general and vowed to double his efforts while being a provincial board member handling vital committees including education, cooperative, tourism, and arts and culture.

“Ito ay para makatulong tayo na magkaisa ang lahat ng mga kagawad ng SP hindi lamang sa Bulacan. I will stand and make a position in national issues relating to local governance and the general welfare,” he added.

Fermin explained that his position in the league will serve as a conduit to exchange and adopt best practices in legislation to further improve Bulacan’s present system.

Before the said election, Fermin was assigned as the Provincial Liaison Officer in PBMLP ratified by the Provincial Resolution No. 029-T’10 initiated by Senior Board Member Rino Castro, 3rd district of Bulacan.###
