Bulacan Local Blood Council to award voluntary blood donors

CITY OF MALOLOS – On its 9th year, the Bulacan Local Blood Council (BLBC) continues to recognize voluntary blood donors and advocates through its Gawad Parangal- Pagkilala which will be held at Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center Pavillion, tomorrow, July 30 at 9 in the morning.

Sec. Enrique T. Ona, M.D. of the Department of Health and Dir. Christie Monina M. Nalupta, M.D. of the National Blood Service Philippine Red Cross-NHQ are expected to grace the event as the guests of honor.

The program will be divided into two parts. The first part will compose of the messages from invited guests and the recognition for Voluntary Blood Donors and Advocates.

The second part will be the awarding for blood donors with the Highest Blood Donation, four or more times Blood Donation, Blood Galloners, Blood Donor-Bronze Awardee and Outstanding Local Chief Executives on Voluntary Blood Donation.

Through these recognitions, officials from the province hope to convey the significance of saving people’s lives and encourage more individuals to practice voluntary blood donations.

Meanwhile, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, being the chairman of the BLBC and a blood donor himself, vows to continuously intensify the voluntary blood donation campaign to ensure ample and safe supply of blood for Bulakenyos whenever a need arises.###
