Bulacan Gov’t, to recognize outstanding Bulakenyos

CITY OF MALOLOS –A new batch of outstanding Bulakenyos will be recognized thru the Provincial Government of Bulacan’s annual search dubbed as Gawad Dangal ng Lipi (DNL), on September 14, 2010 at Hiyas Pavilion, to coincide with the Singkaban Fiesta celebration.

DNL is the highest award given to Bulakenyos who have excelled in different fields of expertise.

According to the Provincial Planning and Development Office, DNL’s secretariat, the awards will be divided into 12 categories namely public service, professional, community service, trade and industry, education, health, science and technology, agriculture, arts and culture, sports, Bulakenyo Expatriate and Tanging Bulakenyo, the highest award given to a Bulakenyo who have excelled and made legacy in any of the previously cited categories.

This year’s winners will receive a medal and a trophy of recognition.

Formerly called Dangal ng Bulacan, the Provincial Government started to give this prestigious distinction in 1974 during the term of then Gov. Nacing Santiago.

Previous recipients of DNL awards were former president Corazon Aquino, Virgilio Almario, Joey de Leon, Richard Gomez, Dolphy, Regine Vlesaquez, Cheche Lazaro, Arnold Clavio, Shirley Halili Cruz, and Arnel T. Papa among others.

Aside from DNL, the public, especially those who wish to join the labor force, may also take advantage on that day the Jobs Fair to start from 8:00 in the morning onwards at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium.

Bulacan PESO officials said about 50 companies offering local and overseas employment will participate in this Jobs Fair, specifically, those in the areas of information communication technology and service industry. ###
