CITY OF MALOLOS - The Bulacan Provincial Disaster Management Council (PDMC) won the Regional Gawad Kalasag Hall of Fame Award in a program held in Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

Bulacan was conferred with the distinction being the Most Disaster-Prepared Province in Central Luzon and had been enshrined into the Hall of Fame of Regional Gawad Kalasag after winning for three consecutive years for their exemplary performance in the implementation of disaster risk reduction management plan and quick response in times of calamities and disasters.

According to the Regional Disaster Coordinating Council (RDCC) , PDMC’s programs and achievements in its 566 Bulacan Rescue Group and Community-Based Flood Mitigation and Management Program serve as encouragement to all local government units in improving their disaster preparedness.

The RDCC also conferred a plaque of recognition to 566 Bulacan Rescue and Bulacan Integrated Rescue Association (BIRA) for humanitarian assistance they made in Pangasinan during the Ondoy and Pepeng typhoons.

Meanwhile, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy- Alvarado vowed to prioritize and support the program of PDMC by providing them more ambulance and firemen. This is to augment the ready and available support group who will ensure the safety of the constituents in times of emergency.

Other than PDMC and 566 Bulacan Rescue, Gawad Kalasag also conferred recognition to Bulacan Rescue 117 as Best Non-Government Emergency Responder.
