CITY OF MALOLOS--- Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado leads the inauguration of the new hemodialysis center today (November 19) as part of his commitment to improve and expand the medical services offered by the Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) to the public.

Governor Alvarado is joined by guests from Bulacan Medical Society in opening and initiating the operation of the dialysis center located at the third floor of BMC inside the Capitol Compound.

This center is loaded with 10 dialysis machines and other equipment to ensure that more Bulakenyo patients will benefit from its services.

According to the officials of BMC, dialysis is a life-saving procedure for patients with end stage renal disease or chronic kidney disease and as part of the province’s responsibility and commitment towards quality health care, careful studies are continuously being conducted to provide Bulakenyos, particularly patients who are afflicted with kidney and allied diseases, with relevant medical services that are efficient, effective and affordable.

“May kamahalan ang bayad ng nagpapa-dialysis subalit bilang malaking tulong ng pamahalaan, maliit lang ang magigiging gastos ng pasyente dito na nagkakahalaga ng P1,400,” Governor Alvarado said.

The governor also emphasized that the Provincial Government will give 50 percent subisdy for indigent patients, so they will only pay P700 for each session, further citing that this new service will save them transportation cost.

“Di na rin kailangan pang lumuwas o pumunta sa mga private hospital tulad ng St. Luke’s Hospital at iba pa dahil nandito na sa BMC ang kakailanganing serbisyo, dagdag pa ni Alvarado.

The Governor also vowed to continuously implement improvements in BMC and other district hospitals through construction and expansion of necessary facilities, hiring of additional personnel and procurement of modern equipment to alleviate the plight of patients who seek medical attention.###
