CITY OF MALOLOS- ExeCom member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CCP/NPA/NDF) charged with 13 Warrant of Arrest for murder was captured during a joint operation of police and army intelligence in Brgy. Subic, Baliuag, Bulacan at 6:30 pm Monday.

Alan Jasminez, a native of Quezon province, was arrested in connection with several warrants issued by Judge Rodolfo Garguque of Branch 63 of the Calauag, Quezon Regional Trial Court.

The warrants of arrest stemmed from the complaints of the families of slain soldiers who were killed in various ambuscades in Quezon province sometime in September 1989.

Senior Superintendent Wendy Rosario, officer-in-charge of the Bulacan PPO, said that the joint operatives of the Bulacan Police Provincial Intelligence Branch led by Supt. Edwin Quillates and the Army Intelligence Unit of the 702nd Brigade of the Philippine Army under Col. Felicito Virgilio M. Trinidad Jr., arrested Jasminez as a result of a year long operational research and surveillance.

According to Rosario, when asked if he is included in the list of Joint Agreement on Security and Immunity Guarantee (JASIG), the rebel leader did not respond.

However, upon his arrival at the PNP Crime Laboratory in Camp Olivas, Pampanga for his booking, Jasminez claimed he is included in the JASIG list but failed to present a Document of Identification or Letter of Authority.

Jasminez will be turned over to the Quezon province RTC for proper disposition. ###
