Bulacan’s motorists’ assistance set this Holy Week

CITY OF MALOLOS – To ensure a safe and orderly commemoration of the Holy Week, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado called on the volunteers from the capitol and from other LGUs, as well as non-government organization, to participate on the “Lakbay Alalay sa Manlalakbay 2011 from April 18-24.

The said volunteers will assist the motorists and implement the safety and precautionary measures during the Holy Week.

Also, three help desks or first aid stations are placed in three areas, one in front of the capitol and the other two in Brgy. Kapitangan, Paombong and Divine Mercy Shrine in Marilao. The station which is placed at the capitol is open from 8am to 5pm on Holy Monday until Holy Wednesday while the stations in Paombong and Marilao are open 24 hours on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

Among the government agencies and non government organizations that was tapped to provide assistance to the motorists are A.R.R.E.S.T, Philippine National Red Cross, Provincial Disaster Management Office- Bulacan 566, Rescue 117 (Paombong), Philippine National Police, Kabalikat Civicom, and Bureau of Fire Protection.
On-the-spot assistance to the public includes response to emergency and medical cases, as well as patrol assistance, traffic management and communication assistance.

Aside from this, the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office staff will join the group in the help desk to distribute info sheet or list of churches and shrines as guide for those who will do visita Iglesia in the province on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

Meanwhile, assistance or emergency response will be available 24 hours through Bulacan Rescue’s hotline number (044) 791-0566. ###
