CITY OF MALOLOS – In the spirit of volunteerism, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado supported the Voluntary Bloodletting Activity spearheaded by the members of Bulacan Capitol Information Officers (BCIO) and Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium yesterday morning.

According to the tally of the proponents of the said activity, a total of 177 donors from the Provincial Government of Bulacan and other civilians, had registered and expressed their willingness to donate blood but only 101 donors were able to pass the screening process.

However, out of the 101 donors, only 98 bags were approved and marked as good while the other three were considered QNS or Quantity Not Sufficient and will no longer be used for medical operations.

The collected bags of blood will be deposited to the Bulacan Provincial Blood Center (BPBC) which in turn will be utilized by the Bulacan Medical Center to address the need of Bulakenyos for blood.

“Ang pagsasama-sama ay makatutugon sa patuloy na pagkakaroon ng sapat at ligtas na dugo para sa lahat ng nangangailangan,” said Fernando.

Donors were given certificates in recognition for their support and cooperation and most importantly, their efforts to pay it forward by means of blood donation.

Furthermore, the said event was conducted coinciding the celebration of Fernando’s birthday.

“Nagpapasalamat din po ako sa lahat ng mga kawani at mga nagmamahal sa akin na nagpunta, nakilahok at bumati sa aking kaarawan,” he added.

The event was made possible in cooperation with the Provincial Public Health Office and BPBC. ###
