Search for Galing Pook 2011 is now open

CITY OF MALOLOS – Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado encourages all the department heads and assistant department heads of the Provincial Government of Bulacan to submit their nominations for outstanding local governance program for this year’s Galing Pook Awards.

The said announcement was made through the issuance of memorandum PA-2011-304 informing the heads of different offices to prepare all the needed documents if they intend to join on the said search to be able to meet the July 29, 2011 deadline.

Said memorandum was issued in accordance to the Memorandum Circular No. 2011-83 issued by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) addressing all provincial governors, city and municipal mayors and DILG regional directors to take part in the succes of Gawad Galing Pook 2011.

Submitted entries will be judged based on the following criteria: Positive Results-30%; Promotion of People’s Participation and Empowerment-30%; Innovation-15%; Transferability and Sustainability15%; Efficiency of Program Service Delivery-10%.

The Galing Pook Award is a pioneering program that recognizes and promotes innovations and excellence in local governance. Since its inception in 1993, Galing Pook is implemented in partnership with the DILG and the Local Government Academy.

At present, at least 230 programs from the 152 local governments were awarded the Galing Pook.
