Alvarado distributes 2, 500 PhilHealth cards

HEALTHY ASSURANCE – Bulacan Governor Wihelmino M. Sy-Alvarado gives a tap of assurance to a lady along with a Philihealth card which will give medical assistance to the other 2,500 beneficiaries of “Philhealth: Alalay sa Kalusugan Mo” from various relocation sites in the province in line with the celebration of Singkaban Fiesta 2011. The said program is Alvarado’s way of keeping the relocation settlers feel that their health is much valued by the provincial government. CITY OF MALOLOS- Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado gives out 2,500 PhilHealth insurance cards to the indigent families from the cities and municipalities in Bulacan during the “PhilHeatlh: Alalay sa Kalusugan Mo” held at the Hiyas Pavillion as part of the celebration of Singkaban Fiesta 2011 today.

Alvarado said that the beneficiaries of the insurance cards qualified in the evaluation done by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and PhilHealth.

“We would like to uplift the awareness of the Bulakenyos in health care and nutrition. Through these programs, we hope to alleviate the plight of our indigent constituents especially in times of medical emergencies,” said Alvarado.

Also, Zenaida dela Vega, chief of Social Insurance Office of PhilHealth-Malolos, gave a lecture about the benefits that they can get from the said insurance.

Meanwhile, almost 1, 500 Bulakenyos benefited in the Kapitolyo sa Barangay” (KSB) held in front of the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium.

Among the services offered by KSB are medical and dental missions, free eye check-up, free massage (reflexology) and haircut services. They also distributed free medicines and eye glasses to the indigent Bulakenyos.

“Through this, we are bringing the services of the Provincial Government closer to the Bulakenyos. We can also interact with them personally and lay solutions to their problems and needs immediately,” Alvarado explained. ###
