CEU Malolos wins in the Kalutong Bulakenyo

CITY OF MALOLOS- Centro Escolar University (CEU) Malolos Campus successfully caught the tastes of the judges as they emerged as champion among the other 10 colleges and universities in the province in the Kalutong Bulakenyo cooking competition held as part of the Singakaban Fiesta 2011 at the Tanghalan ng Sining at Kultura in this city today.

Also winning in the main course category, the CEU team, composed of Michelle Ann Kate Agustin, Marisol Jose, Mark Vincent Ramos, and Coach William Alcantara, received P20, 000 cash prize, a trophy and gift packs from Ajinomoto and San Miguel Foods Corporation.

Meanwhile, Baliuag University won as 1st runner-up and bagged special awards such as Best Dessert and Best Ham Preparation while Fernandez College grabbed the 2nd runner up slot.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that all the participants had impressively shown their creativity and cooking skills in this competition.

“We have prepared consolation prizes for all of them to show that we recognize their outstanding cooking skills. Also, this is just the beginning of showing our country that Bulakenyos are really talented in preparing delicious dishes,”added Alvarado.

Participants of Kalutong Bulakenyo are students of HRM and culinary schools in Bulacan who battled in four categories such as appetizer making, Bringhe ng Bulacan cooking as main course, pastillas for dessert and CDO ham preparation. ###
