CITY OF MALOLOS- Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado commended the performances of the Bulacan Provincial Jail (BPJ) detainees as they boasted their wits and talents as they took part on the celebration of Singkaban Fiesta 2011.
On a concert dubbed as “Kawili-wiling Konsiyerto para sa mga Detinado” held at the BPJ Plaza last September 10, 2011, the BPJ band and BPJ Choir Filipiniana serenaded their family and friends.
Robin Padilla’s daughter Kylie also graced the event as the replacement of his father as the guest of honor and entertained the detainees with a song number.
Meanwhile, the BPJ Teatro peformed an interpretative dance entitled “Hustisya” to the tune of the famous Bohemian Rhapsody while BPJ Chapel Choir sang Rehas na Bakal.
The following day, September 11 at 9 o’clock in the morning, five (5) groups of provincial detainees made an exhibition of their dancing skills in “Katutubong Sayaw” which was held at the same venue.
After dancing Pandanggo sa Bulig, Cell 25 Plumbers caught the judges attention and bagged the 1st place while Cell 23 Disaster Volunteer and Cell 27 Quarantine grabbed the 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
Also on the same day, simultaneous with the Katutubong Sayaw, the detainees showed off their intelligence through BulakHenyo quiz bee wherein the mind game evolved around the rich culture and history of the province.
Cell 27 Quarantine got the highest score on the said game and hailed as BulakHenyo Quiz Bee 2011 winner. ###
