Friday, 16 September 2011
CITY OF MALOLOS – Singkaban Fiesta 2011 did not fall short for the environment.

Activities for the environment take flight as the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) headed by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado through the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO) launches various activities highlighting its efforts for the conservation and restoration of the natural beauty of our mother nature.

In an aim to increase awareness among the youth, BENRO mounted the Miracle Exhibit composed of the master pieces of the winners in the poster-making competition held at SM Marilao last June 20 which was participated by 50 students from public and private schools, both in primary and secondary levels.

Also, entries from the Photo Journalism competition taken by creative Bulakenyos can also be seen in the said exhibit as BENRO deems to capture the beauty of the environment and at the same time tap the skills of the participants in photography.

To cap it all up, a coffee table book gathered by BENRO entitled BENRO Miracle with the theme “Karikitan ng Kalikasan sa Tahanan ng Tatlong Republika” was also launched which contains the activities for the Environment Month, mid-year report, various campaign program and the 2011 Environment Code of Bulacan.

BENRO chief Atty. Rustico T. De Belen said that the publication of the coffee table book is another milestone to showcase BENRO’s commitment and dauntless efforts towards advancing the cause of the environment, both inside and outside the government’s bureaucracy.

“Nagtagumpay ang BENRO sa pangunguna ni Atty. Rustico T. De Belen na maitinggal sa mga larawan ang natitira pang kariktan ng tahanan ng tatlong republika,” said Alvarado.

Meanwhile, the winners on the Photo Journalism contest which were judged by the panel of jurors composed of Leticia T. Alcantara, Department of Education (DepED) supervisor from the Division of Bulacan, Carlito G. Dela Cruz and Imelda G. Galang both of which are Education Supervisor-I of DepED-Bulacan, will be personally notified by BENRO thru a letter. ###
