Boy/Girl officials, inducted to serve for a week in the Capitol

CITY OF MALOLOS – Elected and appointed top officials of the Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado welcomed the 61 boy and girl officials who will serve as their counterparts in line with the observance of Linggo ng Kabataan from December 5-9.
These young leaders were elected by their peers who were chosen from various schools to serve a one-week term in the Capitol.
Elected as the governor is Zsarlaine S. Valeña from the Immaculate Concepcion Child Development School and Gerardo P. Liway IV from San Miguel National High School as the vice governor.
“The boy/girl officials is designed to train our young people in the actual discharging duties of public officials and to let the youth experience how to run the local government and how the executive and legislative departments of the local government unit work together for a common goal,” Alvarado added.
For the whole week, the Boy/Girl Officials will be busy dealing with different government operations as their counterpart officials orient them with policies, procedures and even bring them to actual meetings to allow them to experience how it feels to be a public servant.
Aside from office work, the said youth officials will also have a volunteer work at Jubilee Homes in Pulilan on December 6.
Meanwhile, the chief executive also encouraged these young bloods to maximize this week-long experience which will expose them on how government works for the people and hopes that it will inspire them to participate actively in government activities and projects.
The weeklong celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan is in accordance to Presidential Proclamation No. 99 series of 1992. ###
