CITY OF MALOLOS- Good news for the students and teachers of a far-flung public elementary school near the Angat Dam Hydroelectric Plant in Norzagaray, Bulacan.
The National Power Corporation (NPC) has granted the request of Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado to provide electricity and water to the elementary school near the Angat Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP) Dyke in Norzagaray town.
Froilan Tampinco, president of NPC, said that the Bulacan governor made the request during the 4th Regional Full Council Meeting held last December 2011 at Baler Sports Complex, Baler Aurora.
Tampinco said that they will be installing solar panels to limit the unauthorized tapping of electricity and an artesian well for potable water supply.
“We are now in the process of preparing the design and the estimate of the needed utilities for this project,” added Tampinco.
Maricel Santos-Cruz, chief of the Provincial Public Affairs Office, said the governor is thankful that officials of the NPC granted their request to help the students and teachers in improving the conditions of their small school which is located within the Angat dam watershed area.###
