Bulacan dominates the Regional Skills Competition

CITY OF MALOLOS- Skilled Bulakenyos were hailed the over-all champion in the 2012 Central Luzon Regional Skills Competition held at the Malolos Club Royale and Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Provincial Office recently.

Out of the seven provinces with 678 competitors in Region III, Bulacan won eight (8) gold, six (6) silver and four (4) bronze medals, which put the province on the first place.

Bulakenyo skilled competitors excelled in the two categories of the skills competition wherein they won three gold, six silver and two bronze medals for the youth category and five golds and two bronzes for the trainer category.

Aside from the medals, they [Bulakenyo delegates] also received P30,000 cash incentive and trophy.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado lauded the delegates of the province for bringing addditional triumph for Bulacan.

Among the trade areas where the Bulekenyos bagged gold medals are automobile technology, web design, welding, cooking, ladies’ and men’s hairdressing, graphic design, electronics and refrigeration.

According to Juan Lorenzo "Boy" Bautista of Tesda Bulacan, the champion will represent the region in the upcoming Philippine National Skills Olympics. ###
