Bulacan presents its reigning beauties at the Singkaban Fiesta 2012

CITY OF MALOLOS—A celebration of beauty and brains will happen in one night as the Reyna ng Bulacan candidates take the center stage on September 13 at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the pageant is one of the highlights of the upcoming celebration of Singkaban Fiesta that will not only showcase the beauty of the Bulakenyas but also their awareness in the culture and arts of the province.

“The event aims to promote not only the beauty of the candidates but more importantly, the good qualities, values and moral character of Bulakenyo youths, making them ambassadors and role models that will help the provincial government in promoting the rich historical and cultural heritage and also boost the eco-tourism programs in the province,” said the governor.

Coming from the different cities and municipalities of Bulacan, 25 beauties will compete for the crown as Reyna ng Bulacan 2012 who will also be the official representative of the province for the Binibining Pilipinas. She will also receive a trophy, sash, crown and a cash prize amounting to P40,000.

Runner-ups will be tagged as representatives for Miss World Philippines, Miss Earth Philippines, Festival Queen and Miss Island Philippines and will take home P10,000 each, plus trophy and sash.

Aside from the “meet and greet” activity and pictorial that will be held at Robinson’s Pulilan on September 8, the candidates will also have a pre-pageant presentation which will feature their talent, gracefulness in modeling of the swimwear and casual wear, and intelligence in the question and answer portion that will be held at the Hiyas Pavillion on September 9 at 2:30 p.m.

Also, on September 13 before the coronation night, a historical conference dubbed as “El Pueblo Soberano 200” that will be attended by Spain Ambassador Jorge Manuel Domecq will be held at 9 am to 5pm at the BarCie Hotel as part of the 200th anniversary of the First Spanish Constitution of 1812 at Cadiz and the 144th anniversary of the Congreso Revolucionario of 1898 at the Barasoain Church. ###
