Bocaue beauty still reigns in Reyna ng Bulacan 2012

CITY OF MALOLOS—Mary Joyce Respicio from the town of Bocaue is now the Binibining Bulacan 2012 and will be representing the province to the Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant after winning the hearts of the judges during the Reyna ng Bulacan coronation night held recently at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.

Respicio, an 18 year-old Tourism Management student of Bulacan State University, received a trophy, sash, crown and a cash prize amounting to P40,000. She was also awarded the Best in Long Gown as special award.

Also, bagging the titles as the official candidate of Bulacan in the national beauty pageants are Camille Carla Nazar of San Miguel for Miss World Philippines, Agnes Mygelle Tolentino of Marilao for Miss Earth Philippines, Sharina Rose Gabriel of Paombong for Festival Queen and Charmaine Matic of San Rafael for Miss Island Philippines. They all received P10,000 each, plus trophy and sash.

Special awards were also given to Jonalyn Ortega of Bustos as Miss Photogenic, Agnes Mygelle Tolentino of Marilao as Best in Swimwear, Jan Helen Villanueva of Norzagaray as Best in Talent and Charmaine Matic of San Rafael as Miss Friendship.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the pageant not only showcase the beauty of the Bulakenyas but also their awareness in the culture and arts of the province.

“The event aims to promote not only the beauty of the candidates but more importantly, the good qualities, values and moral character of Bulakenyo youths, making them ambassadors and role models that will help the provincial government in promoting the rich historical and cultural heritage and also boost the eco-tourism programs in the province,” said the governor.

Hazel German of Bocaue, last year’s Reyna ng Bulacan and Annalie Forbes, last year’s Binibining Bulacan, hand over their crown for the new title holders.

Among the judges of the event were Cong. Riza Hontiveros, Sophie Philippines General Manager Henry Lindberg, Binibining Pilipinas International 2010 Czarina Gatbonton, and Gus de Castro of the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI).

This event was made possible through the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PYSEACTO) in partnership with Ginoo at Binibining Bulacan Charity Inc. ###
