Bulacan launches coop month

CITY OF MALOLOS- Joining the nation in celebrating the National Cooperative Month, the Provincial Government of Bulacan thru the Provincial Cooperative and Economic Development Office (PCEDO) launches the Cooperative and Enterprise Month yesterday morning, this city.

Tagged as “Kooperatiba ay Pasiglahin at Patatagin, Kasapian ay Paramihin at Paunlarin”, the said celebration aims to increase public awareness and recognize the vital contribution of the cooperatives in Bulacan’s development.

According to PCEDO Department Head Jovito Saguinsin, Cooperative month is full with trainings that will help the cooperatives to increase their knowledge and skills and as well as to avoid the cancellation of Certificate of Good Standing of the cooperatives.

“Mayroong 14 mandatory trainings na ibinigay ang Cooperative Development Authority na kinakailangang kuhanin ng ating mga koop upang hindi ma-cancel ang kanilang Certificate of Good Standing,” Saguinsin said.

Saguisin added that some of the trainings are cooperative trainer’s training wherein approximately 40 trainers from PCEDO and two representatives per municipality will attend; cooperative chairpersons’ forum wherein 300 cooperative chairpersons all over Bulacan will exchange insights and experiences regarding cooperative; providers’ focused group discussion; training on cooperative management and governance; and cooperative managers’ league seminar.

Cooperative Month Celebration is being held yearly every October by the virtue of Proclamation No. 493 dated October 27, 2003. ###
