More job opportunities for Bulakenyos on Labor Day

CITY OF MALOLOS- Bulakenyo jobseekers will have a better way of spending the holiday on May 1, 2013 thru participating in the upcoming jobs fair in SM Baliwag and SM Marilao at 8 am and 9 am respectively.

The said jobs fair is made possible by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in partnership with the Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado thru its Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and SM City Malls.

Alvarado said the province is in full support in the national government’s program on job generation.

The governor is encouraging all jobseekers and fresh graduates anew to participate in the said job opportunities wherein more or less 60 local and foreign employers will participate including different companies, placement agencies and SM mall tenants.

The career expo is expected to bring thousands of job openings from participating companies like Baliuag Transit Inc., SL Temps. Inc., TIPCO, Toyota Plaridel, OSRU Garments, NCO Philippines Clark Inc., SM City Baliwag malls shops and affiliates such as Ace Hardware, Department Store, Hypermarket, Watsons and others.

Available positions include accounting and administration, engineering, IT, customer service, technical support, sales and marketing, food and beverage workers, human resources, security and warehouse personnel among others.

Interested jobseekers are advised to wear a business attire and to bring more copies of their application documents to be processed such as updated resume, 2x2 and 1x1 pictures, diploma, transcript of records and certificate of trainings attended as well as ballpens.

Meanwhile, a one-stop-shop for various government services of NBI, SSS, PhilHealth and BIR will be available at SM Marilao to fast track jobseekers’ possible employment.

Also, a free haircut and massage therapy will be available for the public, while an exhibit of paintings and artworks of Frederico Palines, a visual artist who is a person with disability will be showcased at SM City Baliwag’s event center.

Earlier this year, a total of 82 out of 1,014 jobseekers were hired on-the-spot and 861 applicants had qualified for further interview in the Trabaho Para sa Bulakenyo Job Fair, a program of the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium last March. ###
