Chief Justice Sereno leads re-launching of Justice on Wheels in Bulacan
Thursday, 07 November 2013
CITY OF MALOLOS – Hundreds of poor Bulakenyos will have greater access to justice as Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno together with Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado commences the Enhanced Justice on Wheels (EJOW) on November 8 at 9:00 am in front of Bulwagan ng Katarungan, Provincial Capitol Compound in this city.

The governor, who represents the community in the Five Pillars of Justice, said that the Provincial Government is very happy to support this program.

“Hindi natin nais na maging kabahagi ang ating lalawigan sa mga kawalang-katarungan talamak sa lipunan sa ngayon. Panahon na upang ipanata sa ating mga sarili na hindi tayo bibitiw at panghihinaan ng loob sa pagtatayugod ng katarungan bagaman marami na ang sumuko sa paggawa nito,” he said.

Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Ma. Theresa Arcega added that the program also aims to assist in the speedy disposition of cases and expediting the release of detention prisoners.

“It is the third time in Bulacan and we are very fortunate to have the Chief Justice to grace the event,” said Arcega.

She also said that other activities that will be held simultaneously as part of the re-launching are “Court Hearing and Mobile Court-Annexed Mediation” at the Bulwagan ng Katarungan, “Information Dissemination” that will be attended by barangay officials at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium, “Jail Visitation” that will conduct dental and medical services and legal aid for detainees, “Dialogue with the Supreme Court Justice and Officials” at Hapag Restaurant, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center and team building activities for court personnel at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium.

Judges, stenographers, interpreters and other court officials from the 21 towns and three cities in the province will also take part in the event. ###
