CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan also intensified its security and emergency measures for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit 2015 from November 16-20.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado instructed police and other security forces to ready their internal security measures to help the Philippine Government in ensuring a peaceful climate during the holding of the APEC Summit.
He said Bulacan is very near to Metro Manila and it is prudent that pertinent security measures and preparations are strictly implemented to prevent potential hostile forces from disrupting the meeting of the world leaders which the Philippines is hosting this week.
“Even President Aquino is personally checking the venues where the world leaders would meet. We must help our president in ensuring the peaceful hosting of this important world event,” Alvarado said.
The governor has already instructed Bulacan police director and other law enforcement agencies in Bulacan to increase police visibility on a 24/7 basis.
He said he does not want a repeat of the recent cold blooded slaying of Bulacan Regional Trial Court Judge Wilfredo Nieves who was ambushed and killed by still unidentified assassins while on his way to Metro Manila after attending court duty.
“These criminals have no place in our peaceful society. We must not give them opportunity to do their evil deeds,” the governor said.
Alvarado also called on fellow Bulakenyos to pray for the victims of the terror attacks in Paris France.
He said that even advanced countries are vulnerable to such wave of terror so prayers and vigilance are really needed to prevent such incidents from happening.
“Let’s all pray that peace will always reign,” the governor ended.
