CITY OF MALOLOS - “Tapos na ang paghihintay nandito ka na’t oras ay naiinip magdahan-dahan. Sinasamsam bawat gunita na para bang tayo’y ‘di na tatanda.”

As the song goes, the wait is finally over for the fans of Sponge Cola and Rocksteddy as they are set to rock the Bulakenyos with their music in a free concert sponsored by Globe Telecom dubbed as “Sing Ka Band 2017” on September 8, 2017, 6 pm at the Bulacan Sports Complex in Brgy. Sta. Isabel in this city.

According to Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, the free concert will fully enliven the festive spirit of the Bulakenyos and will add color and glitz to the celebration of the annual festival.

“Batid natin ang pagmamahal ng ating mga kalalawigan sa musikang Pilipino kaya handog natin ito sa mga Bulakenyo na tumatangkilik sa ating sariling musika. Tara na at makiisa sa ating pagdiriwang ng Singkaban Festival,” Alvarado said.

Sponge Cola, which is composed of Yael Yuzon on vocals, Gosh Dilay on bass, Erwin Armovit on guitars, and Tmac Cruz on drums, popularized the songs Jeepney, KLSP, Gemini, Bitiw, Tuliro, Di na Mababawi, Tambay, Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay, XGF and many others.

Rocksteddy, on the other hand, which is composed of Teddy Corpuz on vocals, Jeff Cucullo on drums, Christian Sindico on bass and Juven Pelingon on guitar, produced many hits such as Lagi mo na lang akong dinededma, Gising na, Blue Jeans, Superhero, Magpakailanman, No Touch and many more.

After the concert, the night sky will be lit with vibrant colors as Leegendary Fireworks Inc., Pyrohaven and CPM Fireworks, three of the most well-known names in the pyrotechnic industry, showcase an orchestrated display of world class pyrotechnics.

The governor reminds those who will attend the event to stay safe and keep the peace and orderliness for a happier celebration of the festivity.

Sing Ka Band 2017, which aims to entertain thousands of Bulakenyos through a music-filled night, is one of the highlights of the annual celebration of Singkaban Festival with this year’s theme “Singkaban Festival 2017: Bulacan, babalik-balikan.”
