CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office-Bulacan Rescue has visited the departments and district hospitals of the Provincial Government of Bulacan yesterday to help them prepare and refresh the knowledge of employees about the proper response in times of disaster such as fire as part of the observance of Fire prevention Month this March.

Anchored on the theme “Ligtas na Pilipinas ang Ating Hangad, Pag-iingat sa Sunog ay sa Sarili Ipatupad”, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado emphasized the importance of being ready and well informed in the eventuality of fire.

He added that aside from an orientation conducted in all offices from March 1-2, 2018, information, education, and communication materials like posters and leaflets were also distributed for the PGB officials and employees’ reference.

According to Felicisima Mungcal, head of PDRRMO, among the lined up activities for this month are the launching of Fire Prevention Month during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony on March 5; Provincial Government’s fire marshals training on Basic Fire Fighting on March 6, 8:00 a.m. at Malolos Club Royale Resort in this city; fire drill; and inspection of fire safety of hospitals run by PGB on March 9.

Get Out, Stay Out and Call for Help at STOP, DROP and ROLL.

Meanwhile, Billy Joe Marciano, an employee of the Provincial Public Affairs Office who participated on the orientation conducted by PDRRMO, said that it is important to take part in this kind of activity in order to be ready not only at the office but also at their respective households.

Kahit sabihing handa tayo, iba pa rin ‘yung regular tayong napapaalalahanan,” Marciano said.

In one with the PGB in the observance of Fire Prevention Month are the municipalities in the province and the Bureau of Fire Protection.

Moreover, the PDRRMO reminds everyone that in case of emergency or disaster, just call the emergency hotline (044) 791 0566 o 9-1-1.
