Alvarado honors educators at BOATS awarding

CITY OF MALOLOS - Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado admired the immeasurable contribution of educators in shaping the youth’s future during the 28th Bulacan Outstanding Administrators, Teachers and Supervisors awarding ceremonies held at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city yesterday.

Alvarado, the guest of honor and speaker at the awarding ceremony, said that education is the most effective vessel of hope and catalyst of real change that is essential in nation building and in possessing our collective dream; and teaching is the most effective tool to use in order to achieve it.

“Kung mayroon mang propesyon na ating maituturing na mahalagang haligi ng isang matiwasay, payapa at maunlad na lipunan ay marahil walang iba kundi ang pagtuturo sapagkat kalangkap ng bawat matagumpay na nasyon ang pagkakaroon ng isang mahusay at de-kalidad na antas ng edukasyon,” Alvarado said.

This year’s BOATS awardees in the Elementary School Teacher category include Lydia Roque Cruz of Gen. Isidoro Torres Memorial School, City of Malolos; Joerlin Jeremias De Guzman of Obando Central School, Obando District; Richard Salvador Cruz of Sto. Niño Elementary School, Paombong District; Maria Elena Ramos Ventura of Timoteo Policarpio Memorial Elementary School, Norzagaray East District; Maria Digna Ballon Parcon of San Rafael BBH Elementary School, City of San Jose del Monte; Jocelyn Dela Rosa Santiago of North Hills Village Elementary School, Norzagaray West District; Ma. Theresa Castro Ignacio of Pulilan Central School, Pulilan District; and Noel Pelayo De Duzman of Don Felix S. De Leon Memorial School, San Miguel South District.

Moreover, Teresita Adriano Tan of Garlang Elementary School, San Ildefonso North District; and Crislyn Gutierrez Dela Cruz of Salambao Elementary School, Obando District were awarded in the Elementary School Head Teacher category while Lolita De Guzman Dayao of Guiguinto Central School, Guiguinto District; Rosalinda De Guzman Gabriel of Saog Elementary School, Marilao South District; Armando Pascual Valencia of Sto. Niño Elementary School, Paombong District; Maria Luisa De Guzman Estrella of Bagong Barrio Elementary School, Pandi North District; Anna Viñas Juliano of Cay Pombo Elementary School, Santa Maria West District; and Filipina Pagsanghan Yanga of F. Mendoza Elementary School, Calumpit North District were awarded in the Elementary School Principal category.

Also, Juan Laderas Gregorio of Fortunato F. Halili National Agricultural School and Raymond Samson Villafane of Mariano Ponce National High School were acknowledged in the Secondary School Teacher category; Emma Alcazar De Jesus of Dr. Felipe de Jesus National High School and Evelyn Ramos Sicat of Pulong Buhangin National High School in Secondary School Head Teacher category; and Florencia Ortega Cervantes of Bunsuran National High School in Secondary School Principal category.

Special Citation as Public Schools District Supervisors were also given to Asuncion Pineda Cabantog and Fidel Santos Laquindanum of the City Division of Malolos; Rolando Godoy Cruz, Josefina Bulaong Natividad and Zenaida Castro Verdillo of Schools Division of Bulacan; and Dolores Macawile Lavilla of the City Division of San Jose del Monte.

Further, Special Citation as Education Program Supervisors were awarded to Levy Mercado Avancena, Cynthia Viloan Berdos, Pacita Tuod Cabanalan, Imelda Gorgonio Cajusay, Ananias Perez Dicdican, Corazon Gener Ignacio, Ramon Santos Lacanilao and Rebecca Robles Zamora of the City Division of San Jose del Monte; Miguel Sapitan Dalangin of City Division of Meycauayan; Ligaya Clavio Liwanag, Anita Valerio Lopez, Reynaldo Buluran Mendiola and Florencio Cruz Rustia of the City Division of Malolos; and Catalino Varilla Inovero of the School Division of Bulacan.

Meanwhile, on behalf of all the awardees, the lone awardee in the Secondary School Principal category, voiced out their gratefulness for being recognized as outstanding educators.

“Ito po ay magsisilbing hamon sa amin. Ito ay magiging hamon at lakas namin na kami ay patuloy na maglingkod, patuloy na gumawa para sa ikatataas ng kalidad ng edukasyon. Ito rin po ay inspirasyon na kung tayo pala ay maglilingkod ng maayos, kung tayo pala ay sasagwan sa tamang direksyon, nandito at magkakaroon ng bunga at ikaw ay magiging outstanding,” Cervantes said.
