CITY OF MALOLOS – One thousand five hundred seventy five Bulakenyo students including 836 scholars under the “Tulong Pang-Edukasyon para sa Kabataang Bulakenyo” scholarship program of the Provincial Government of Bulacan and 739 students who were given financial assistance gathered together for the yearly Scholars’ General Assembly held at The Pavilion in Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city recently.

Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando led the ceremonial distribution of checks and certifications of being a scholar to the attendees.

In his message, Alvarado announced the new law in the country regarding the provision of free tuition in all state universities and colleges. He also cleared that the scholarship program of the PGB will still continue so other students who are not enrolled in the said state universities and colleges may avail of the program.

He also encouraged the students to study harder and to not waste the opportunities given to them to be able to finish their studies.

Meanwhile, former First District representative Marivic Sy-Alvarado, who graced the event as the guest of honor, said that scholars are so blessed because of what God has blessed them through the PGB. She added that she also believes that one of the scholars will be a good public servant in the province.

Prior to this, the PGB distributed scholarship certificates to 2,376 Bulacan Polytechnic College students last May 4, 2018.
