CITY OF MALOLOS - Former President and incumbent Speaker of the House of Representatives Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo led the turn over of dredging equipment that is expected to ease the fears of the Bulakenyos whenever there are floods during the “Turn over of Dredging Equipment” held beside Labangan Bridge, Iba Este, Calumpit, Bulacan today.

In behalf of the Provincial Government of Bulacan, Acting Governor Daniel R. Fernando thanked House Speaker Arroyo for her timely gift to the province.

Meanwhile, First District Representative Jonathan R. Sy-Alvarado acknowledged the House Speaker’s fast response to the supplication of the hopeful Bulakenyos for a solution regarding the flooding in the province.

According to Francis Nuñez from the Bureau of Equipment of the Department of Public Works and Highways, the multi-purpose amphibious dredger, which was given to the town of Calumpit is the latest model from Finland and is expected to pull out 165 cubic meters per hour of dredged materials from the rivers.
