CITY OF MALOLOS – Gracing the 440th Founding Anniversary of Bulacan held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city this morning, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and a true blooded Bulakenyo, General Carlito Galvez, Jr. said with conviction that he is very proud to be a Bulakenyo and sees the activity as a homecoming to his beloved province.

“Unang-una sa lahat, thank you for the privilege of being born as a Bulakenyo and I am happy to be back. Bilang isang anak ng Bulacan, wala ng hihigit pa sa karangalang maanyaya ditto tulad ng isang anak na nasasabik na makauwi sa kanyang tahanan,” Galvez said who came with his wife, parents and other members of the family.

He also proudly claimed that the province of Bulacan reached its 440th year of establishment in which it molded the history of our country.

Meanwhile, Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy–Alvarado said that it is important to look back at the past and emphasized that those memories will help us to better face the future.

Moreover, Alvarado enumerated all the successful projects that materialized during his administration as well as the future projects for Bulacan and expressed his appreciation to the people who sacrificed their lives in order to liberate Bulacan and the nation.

He also added that the foundation of Bulacan, which was glorified by hundreds of years of struggles and labour is not merely based on the province’s fame as one of the major provinces in Central Luzon but also because of its talented citizens.

Meanwhile, historian Dr. Jaime B. Veneracion explained the history of the founding anniversary of Bulacan and clarified that there will be more research to find more specific facts and credible documents to sufficiently explain the account.
