CITY OF MALOLOS- Bulacan retains to be on the list of the richest provinces in the Philippines as Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy- Alvarado and Vice Governor Daniel R. Fernando successfully carried out its vision of making the province soar high financially.

With Alvarado working in tandem with Fernando, Bulacan made the big leap of snatching the 5th spot in the list based on the Commission on Audit Annual Financial Report-Top Ten Provinces, Cities and Municipalities with Highest Amount of Assets (in million pesos).

“Bulakenyos deserve the best services and the best environment to live in. So, we strive very hard to fulfill our commitment to make our province exemplary in terms of governance and financial stability. We are very happy that through the years that we worked along with Vice Governor, that vision is no longer just a dream, it is a continuing reality,” Alvarado said.

In 2015, Bulacan posted the highest revenue among provinces with an income of P3.79 billion. Its asset reached P8.96 billion in 2016, and it even went higher with P10.451 billion assets in 2017.

Also, during the Alvarado–Fernando Administration, the province received several major recognitions internationally and nationally such as International Organization (ISO) 9001:2015 Certificate that ensures an efficient quality system for the provincial government, four consecutive years of Seal of Good Local Governance, National Gawad Kalasag Hall of Famer award consistent Rice Achievers Awardee and Most Business-Friendly Province among others.

As a result, big investors also eye Bulacan as a booming area ideal for their businesses and other infrastructure projects such as the proposed New Manila International Airport (Bulacan International Airport Project), the relocation of ABS-CBN buildings among others. Also, the on-going construction of the Bulacan Bulk Water Project will bring access to fresh, potable surface water with a lower bulk water charge for Bulakenyos. The MRT Line 3 and PNR Phase 1 also started as the DPWH and DOTr together with the PGB did groundbreaking ceremony recently.

“Progress is on-going process. With us, fellow Bulakenyos, working hand-in-hand, we can have a province that is progressively moving non-stop,” added Fernando. ###
