In the drill, employees and clients of the PGB performed the life-saving duck-cover-and-hold maneuver staged at 9:00am with a magnitude-8 intensity earthquake scenario while being directed and assisted by the PGB marshals.

Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando congratulated the team and the PDRRMO for holding the event and preparing not only the marshals but also the capitol employees of the necessary measures to be observed during emergencies especially earthquake.

He added that the said group will be of great to PDRRMO in diminishing tension and panic if and when an emergency comes.

“Kapag may mga ganitong sitwasyon, mabilis na nagpapanic ang mga tao, kadalasan ito pa ang nagiging dahilan para hindi makapag-isip ng mabuti at masaktan, lalo pang nagpapahamak, kaya sa tulong ng mga marshals may katuwang ang PDRRMO sa pagpapa-alala na huminahon at sundin and mga bilin sa atin kapag may emergency, in that way we can save lives,” Fernando said.

The fire marshals/ trained first aiders were very thankful for the said opportunity to be a part of lifesavers group in the province.

According to Felicisima Mungcal, PDRRMO head, the activity was aimed to evaluate the readiness and competence of the PGB marshals in responding to disaster and emergency situation particularly by giving first aid as well as in the command and control of an Incident Command System organization after the two-day First Aid at Work Training at the PDRRMO Training Room held last July 3-4, 2019.
