Future young leaders take oath as boy/girl officials

CITY OF MALOLOS – Dubbed as the ‘hope of the nation’, future young Bulakenyo leaders took their oath of office as counterparts of the Provincial Government of Bulacan’s elected officials and heads during the “Boy/Girl Officials 2019: Pagsasalin ng Tungkulin” coinciding the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony as part of the observation of Youth Week held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium here this morning.

Led by Boy Governor Carl Justine Almonicar and Girl Vice Governor Kyla Nhoreen Padora, the boy/girl officials will experience first hand how it is to lead and provide public service to their fellow constituents.

The governor said that honing these youngsters at a young age is one of the effective ways to develop a strong, compassionate and intelligent leaders in the future.

“Sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng oportunidad gaya nito sa mga kabataang Bulakenyo, binibigyan din natin sila ng oportunidad na matuto at maging isang epektibong pinuno balang araw at maglingkod sa kanilang kapwa-Pilipino,” Fernando said.

Meanwhile, Boy Governor Almonicar proved that the youth can make a difference in the society and took the chance to express his gratitude to the PGB for entrusting the selected boy/girl officials in handling responsibilities.

“Nagpapasalamat ako bilang lider sapagkat ipinagkatiwala sa akin ang posisyon na ito. Gaya ng tanyag na linya ni Dr. Jose Rizal, ang kabataan ay ang pag-asa ng bayan. Hindi ako nangangako bagkus ay gagawin ko ang lahat ng aking makakaya upang makapaglingkod at umaasang maging isang magandang ehemplo sa aking kapwa kabataan,” Almonicar said.

Some of the activities that the boy/girl officials will undertake are lunch with the Governor, teambuilding activities/group dynamics, attending the holy mass, Sangguniang Panlalawigan session and visiting other offices within the Capitol Compound.

The observation of Youth Week is in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 56 and No. 99 by former President Fidel V. Ramos in 1992, which is also stated in the provision of Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015 and in compliance to SK Reform Act declaring that Youth Week should be done near the date of the International Youth Day that is August 12.
