CITY OF MALOLOS – More or less 4,000 students will get inspiration from Senator Manny Pacquiao as he graces the Scholars’ General Assembly as the guest of honor on September 12, 2019, 9 am at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.

Aside from sharing rousing stories of defeats and successes, ‘Pacman’ will also lead the distribution of scholarship grants to students from public senior high school, state universities and colleges (SUCs) and other private schools in the province along with Gov. Daniel R. Fernando.

Under the ‘Tulong Pang-Edukasyon para sa Kabataang Bulakenyo’, scholars will receive a check worth P2,000 for those enrolled in public senior high schools and SUCs while scholars from private institutes will receive a check worth P3,500.

Further, over 3,000 scholarship applicants from the Bulacan Polytechnic College will be granted full tuition and miscellaneous fees for the whole school year.

According to the People’s Governor, the said program aims to help deserving students to finish their education and be of help not only to themselves and families but also to their province.

“Layunin po ng programang ito na maibsan ang dalahin ng mga magulang at matulungan ang mga kabataan na abutin ang kanilang mga pangarap. Napakahalaga po ng edukasyon sapagkat ito ang yaman na kalainma’y hindi mananakaw bagkus ay mapagyayaman upang higit na maging kapaki-pakinabang,” Fernando said.

The scholarship program is in accordance with Executive Order No. 004 by the Office of the Governor dated July 17, 2019 stating that students from state universities and colleges who will pass the qualifying exam will receive educational assistance amounting P2,000 under the “Tulong Pang-Edukasyon para sa Kabataang Bulakenyo” program.

The assembly is part of the weeklong celebration of Singkaban Festival 2019 with the theme, “Sining at Kalinangang Bulakenyo, Dangal ng Filipino!”.
