Bulacan to confer a new batch of outstanding Bulakenyos

CITY OF MALOLOS – A new set of outstanding Bulakenyos will be recognized once again through the Provincial Government of Bulacan’s annual search called “Gawad Dangal ng Lipi (DNL)” on September 15, 2019, 6 pm at The Pavilion in Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center here.

Awardees who excel in their fields of expertise such as public service, professional, community service, entrepreneur, education, science and technology, arts and culture, trade and industry, health, agriculture, sports and Bulakenyo Expatriate will be honored and given medals and trophies of recognition.

Meanwhile, the Tanging Bulakenyo, the highest award to be given to a Bulakenyo by the PGB, will be awarded to a nominee who excels in any of the awards categories stated above and with an outstanding contribution to the society.

As the province that is known to be the ‘cradle of heroes’, Governor Daniel R. Fernando is proud to be giving recognitions to Bulakenyo modern-day heroes who are contributors to the progress and development of the province and the country.

“I am proud to be a Bulakenyo. Paulit-ulit ko po itong sasabihin dahil tunay na nakaka-proud maging isang Bulakenyo. Napakarami na pong mga Bulakenyo na kinilala dahil sa kanilang husay at galing at makakaasa po kayo na patuloy pa tayong tutuklas at kikilala ng mga natatanging anak ng Bulacan,” Fernando said.

Previous awardees include Department of Justice Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra, Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Gen. Carlito G. Galvez, Justice Maria Theresa V. Mendoza-Arcega, Aurora F. Sumulong, Blas Ople, former President Corazon Aquino, Regine Velasquez, Dolphy, Joey De Leon, Arnold Clavio and many more.

Gawad DNL awards program is part of the culminating activities of Singkaban Festival 2019 with the theme “Sining at Kalinangang Bulakenyo, Dangal ng Filipino”.
