CITY OF MALOLOS - Eighty-two job applicants out of 413 job seekers were hired on the spot during the recently held Serbisyo para sa Bulakenyo Job Fair & Livelihood Fair (Trabaho.Negosyo.Kabuhayan) held at Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium here last Thursday.

There were 34 local companies, which offered 2,356 local jobs and one overseas employer, who opened 100 job vacancies to Bulakenyos in the job and livelihood fair initiated by the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) through its Provincial Youth, Sports and Public Employment Service Office (PYSPESO) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in cooperation with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

In his message, Gov. Daniel R. Fernando said that the PGB has already started collaborating with all the local chief executives in the province to prepare and unite the Bulakenyos for the upcoming big job and business opportunities due to the erection of the new international airport in Bulakan town.

Furthermore, DTI Bulacan Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Lota Yasa, who represented Dr. Ernani Dionisio of the DTI as the guest of honor, encouraged the applicants to seek advice from business counselors for them to have an idea about setting up their own small business.

Also, an info caravan of the DOLE, TESDA, OWWA, POEA AND DTI have serviced 55 Bulakenyos while for the skills demo and free services, 31 persons availed haircutting, 12 massage therapy and 28 for soap making.###
