CITY OF MALOLOS - Prior the arrival of the first batch of COVID-19 vaccines, Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando presents the overall proposed vaccination plan of the Provincial Government of Bulacan in a virtual press briefing via Zoom application spearheaded by Presidential Spokesperson Sec. Harry Roque, Jr. last Thursday.

In his presentation during the conference, Fernando said that the PGB have conducted microplanning at local government units (LGU) and provincial level for the allocation for the procurement of vaccines and to have a more effective and efficient implementation of the vaccination plan wherein frontliners and health workers in Bulacan from private and public facilities will be the priority recipient of the vaccines along with the barangay health emergency response team (BHERT); senior citizens; indigent population; and uniformed personnel.

Accordingly, a total of 833 fronliners and health workers from Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) will be the first group to be vaccinated.

Furthermore, vaccination teams were also assigned and mobilized wherein The Pavilion at Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center will serve as the main vaccination center of the province.

Fernando also discussed the vaccine risk communication plan which aims to inform and encourage the people regarding the vaccines and help them understand the benefits that it can make.

He also pleaded for support from the national government to help the province provide sufficient amount of vaccines for the Bulakenyos.

By Friday, the PGB is set to conduct a simulation exercise of vaccine deployment to test the readiness of the province once the vaccines arrived.

The COVID-19 vaccines will be coming from the drugmakers Pfizer-BioNtech and AstraZeneca under the sealed agreement with the COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access (COVAX) Facility. ###
