Bulacan gov sees tax amnesty to boost income generation in Bulacan
Monday, 12 July 2010
CITY OF MALOLOS – Due to the implementation of Tax Amnesty starting July 1 to November 30, 2010, the income generation of the province is expected to reach P2.5 billion this semester.

This is what Gov. Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado said during the Monday flag raising held at the capitol grounds. He said that it is an embarrassment to have very low collection to think that Bulacan is recognized as one of the richest provinces in the country.

“I am expecting a P2.5 billion collection this semester, lalo pa’t may ipinatutupad tayo ngayong tax amnesty, mas maraming magbabayad ng buwis, maraming papasok na pera na maaari nating magamit sa pagpapatupad ng mga programa para sa ating mga kalalawigan”, said Alvarado.

Tax amnesty is a limited-time opportunity for a specified group of taxpayers to pay a defined amount, in exchange for forgiveness of a tax liability (including interest and penalties) relating to a previous tax period or periods and without fear of criminal prosecution.

However, three cities in Bulacan, Malolos, Meycauayan and San Jose Del Monte are not included in the implementation of tax amnesty.

Meanwhile, Alvarado also assured the employees that all the benefits intended for them will be given this year. ###
