CITY OF MALOLOS - For the fourth time, the Provincial Government of Bulacan reaped the result of its good governance as it was conferred as one of the Seal of Good Local Governance awardee during the awarding ceremony for the Central and South Luzon held at The Manila Hotel, Tent City yesterday, November 7, 2018.

The PGB received a marker symbolizing gains in governance and the Performance Challenge Fund worth P7 million to help finance high-impact capital investment projects such as water and sanitation system, access roads and health centers.

Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo M. Año said that only the best among the bests were given the said recognition because they want to aim for quality and not just quantity.

“While we dedicate our lives to public service, we have also embraced all the challenges and sacrifices that come along with it. But despite of all these intricacies, our awardees perform exceptionally and proven that they are above the rest,” Año said.

Acting Governor Daniel R. Fernando expressed his gratitude to all the organizations and volunteer workers in the province who tirelessly support the Provincial Government and said that they are the reason behind Bulacan’s success.

“Ang bawat parangal po na aming nakukuha ay hindi para sa amin. Ito po ay alay namin sa inyo sapagkat kayo ang nagsusumikap upang makamtan ng ating lalawigan ang katagumpayan na tinatamasa nito ngayon, kaya ang parangal po na ito ay alay namin sa inyo,” the acting governor said.

Aside from the Provincial Government, three Bulacan municipalities were also conferred with the same award including the Municipal Government of Baliwag, Guiguinto and Plaridel.

The SGLG is a progressive assessment system that gives distinction to remarkable governance performance across seven governance areas namely financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business-friendliness and competitiveness, environmental management and tourism, culture and the arts.
